Finnish along with all Scandinavian contemporary art isn’t as well-known in Russia as that of Western Europe. Finnish artists taking part in an art project is still an exception rather than a rule in Moscow art life. To fill the gap, the Carree gallery from Kuopio, Finland, in cooperation with the Kovcheg gallery is delivering in Moscow an exhibition of three permanent authors – sculptors Sauli Miettunen and Sakari Matinluari and painter Kari Juutilainen. Of course, graphic 3D compositions and decorative abstract paintings by no means exhaust the topic of Finnish contemporary art, but the exhibition will certainly give the Russian audience one more opportunity to understand an unknown artistic phenomenon.
