For the first time in the history of Moscow Bienniale it has founded its own award based on an idea of Russian conceptualist Yury Albert. Artists-participants of the main project have chosen the most worthy among them. According to the results of the voting, the winner of the newly founded Moscow Biennale award is Romuald Hazoumé from Benin, Western Africa, who is famous worldwide for his masks and installations expressing the critical view of the author on existing political systems. The winner received a certificate, but the material prizeworth of 450 000 rubles will be that the organizers will pay for the winner’s funeral in case he dies within two years – before the next biennale.
