Organizers of the biennale are glad to inform you that the Main project of the biennale at the Center of Contemporary Culture GARAGE has been attended by 40 000 people. Following numerous requests the organizers have decided to prolong the exhibition of the Main project till November 1, 2009

The exhibition on the Red October factory is closing. "Old New Cold War" which was previously announced to run until 25st of October, will be closed on 12th of October. Organizers express their gratitude to all who have visited the exhibition.

A press centre of the 3rd Moscow Biennale of contemporary art is starteing it’s work on the 17th of September in the Garage Center for Contemporary Culture. All journalists who made Biennale accreditation can get their badges in the Press centre, which will work till September, 26.

The opening dates of the 3rd Moscow Biennale of contemporary art are coming nearer. Installation in the Garage Center for Contemporary Culture is in full swing at the moment. Art works from all over the world are already being sent to Moscow and very soon the main exhibition will be ready for opening.

Spencer Tunick, a world famous american photographer has made his Moscow shooting for the MOSCOW INDIVIDUALS project last weekend. It Is not the first time Tunick has done portraits; at the beginning of his art career, in the 1990’s in New York he worked on them. He has said, if he had not worked on the massive installations, he still would be doing portraits.

The announcing press-conference of the 3rd Moscow Biennale of contemporary art was held on July 20 at the Garage, Center of Contemporary Culture. The main speakers were the сurator Jean-Hubert Martin, commissioner and artistic director Joseph Backstein and American photographer Spencer Tunick.

The work on preparation of the Third Moscow Biennale of contemporary art is in full swing. Our special guests Luc Tuymans (Belgium) and Bertrand Lavier (France) have arrived to Moscow this week to work out some details concerning their upcoming exhibitions.

On Friday, June 5, on the eve of the opening of the 53rd Venice biennale of contemporary art the Venetian Hotel Danieli will host the press-conference of the organizers of the Third Moscow biennale of contemporary art. The presentation will include a welcome by Joseph Backstein, commissioner and artistic director of the biennale, a briefing on the biennale by the curator Jean-Hubert Marten and his assistant Olivier Varrenne, and introduction to the Garage, the main venue of the biennale, by Daria Zhukova.

The New York Times - T Magazine has presented the list of the eight most remarkable events in the sphere of contemporary art scheduled for the coming season. Moscow biennale was listed among other important events. The names of Marina Abramovic and Anish Kapoor, the participants of the main project of the Third Moscow biennale of contemporary art, were mentioned in the announce.

Jean Hubert Martin, the curator of the main project, has formed the
list of participants. More than 50 artists will take part in this
event, among them residents of Europe, USA, Asia, Southern America,
Africa and Oceania. Presently Jean Hubert Martin is examining the
materials provided by Russian artists and artists from CIS countries.
